Inner Armour Announces
The Exclusive Use of Balco Buster BSCG

BSCG Is The Exclusive Official Testing Facility Which Certifies Every Single Batch of Inner Armour Products Before They Hit The Shelves.

While Inner Armour Strongly Recommends Banned Substance Free Certifications For All Manufacturing Facilities, It Is Critical To Understand That Many Companies May Advertise That Their Product Has Been Certified When In Fact It Has Not Been.  In Many Cases Only The Manufacturing Facility Where Their Product Was Made Has Been Certified And Not The Actual Finished Product Itself.  If The Manufacturing Facility Received Spiked or Contaminated Raw Materials Unknowingly, The Athlete Would Suffer.  Inner Armour and BSCG Take The Process To The Next Level By Actually Testing and Certifying Every Single Batch of Finished Product Banned Substance Free.

About BSCG

Founded by professionals with years of experience in the field of anti-doping analytical work, Banned Substances Control Group addresses the concern that dangerous banned substances can be found in dietary supplements, even when these substances are not listed as ingredients.

Under the scientific direction of renowned anti-doping expert Don Catlin, M.D., BSCG assists responsible dietary supplement manufacturers by certifying that a sample of their product was tested for a list of banned substances, and no banned substances were found in that sample above the detection limits.
Dr. Catlin's reputation is based on his 26 years of experience at the forefront of anti-doping research and testing. He founded the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory in 1982 and oversaw the drug testing at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. This was the first IOC-accredited lab in the United States and only the fourth in the world. Under his 25-year stewardship as director, the UCLA Olympic Lab gained WADA accreditation and grew to become the world's largest testing facility.

At the lab, Dr. Catlin oversaw the testing for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, the 1994 Soccer World Cup, and the testing of anabolic agents at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta. He has also performed testing on behalf of the U.S. Olympic Committee, NCAA, Major League Baseball's minor leagues, and the National Football League.

Dr. Catlin is also noted for his breakthroughs in anti-doping research. He led the analytic work behind the BALCO scandal, which involved identifying the designer anabolic steroid THG, aka "The Clear". He also developed the testing methodology that differentiates natural from artificial testosterone; inaugurated the test for darbepoetin, a long-acting form of the blood booster medicine EPO; and was the first to report the use of a designer anabolic steroid (norboloethone) in sport. Years ago, Dr. Catlin recognized that athletes who take undocumented supplements are at risk for positive doping tests. He learned in hearings over positive test results how some athletes were caught unwittingly in these disasters. Since then, he has sought to remove these insidious products from the marketplace, while at the same time offering services to support those legitimate and honest companies - some of whom also have troubles unwittingly due to poor supply lines. In addition to lecturing about these tragedies, he published a widely read paper in the Journal of the American Medical Association, which called attention to the problem of undocumented supplements for the entire scientific community.

Dr. Don Catlin's unparalleled experience in the field of anti-doping science greatly adds to the relevance, gravitas and respect that the BSCG program enjoys with the athletic community and wider public. BSCG uses cutting edge anti-doping methodology for all analyses. The detection limits used by BSCG are the lowest detection limits for any similar program worldwide.
Supplements certified by BSCG give their users greater confidence in knowing that a manufacturer is taking all precautions to ensure that harmful anabolic agents and stimulants are not contained in their product. Banned Substances Control Group assists responsible dietary supplement manufacturers that wish to assure their customers that their products do not contain dangerous banned substances. A product that bears the BSCG seal lets the customer know that the product has received BSCG Certification, the details of which are set forth below.

After every batch of a product seeking BSCG Certification is made, the manufacturer is responsible for collecting a representative sample of the batch. The manufacturer then ships the sample of that batch to a state-of-the-art anti-doping research laboratory which has been designated by BSCG. The laboratory analyzes the sample for categories of substances that are banned by organizations such as the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Football League (NFL), and many other professional and amateur sports leagues.

The laboratory analyzes the sample using a validated method with low detection limits (10 nanograms per gram for anabolic agents, 20 nanograms per gram for stimulants) and reports to BSCG whether banned substances were found in the sample above the detection limits. Detection limits are critical in any such analytical method. Manufacturers and consumers alike should be wary of any analytical program that does not disclose the detection limits that it uses.

If the laboratory reports to BSCG that no substances were found in the sample above the detection limit, BSCG issues a Certification to the manufacturer for the batch from which the sample was taken. This Certification enables the manufacturer to place the BSCG seal on the packaging of the products created from the same batch. A manufacturer may not market any product to consumers bearing the BSCG seal unless the batch from which the product was made has received Certification from BSCG.

In the event the laboratory finds a banned substance in the sample, BSCG will immediately notify the manufacturer and take steps to remove the product from the marketplace. The manufacturer will not be able to claim Certification nor use the BSCG seal on that batch or any other batch of the product still under the manufacturer's control. The product will not be eligible for future BSCG Certification, except in rare circumstances where the manufacturer can prove to the satisfaction of BSCG that it bore no responsibility and that sufficient affirmative steps have been taken to ensure its products are free of banned substances.
