POST-WORKOUT STACK

MASS-PEAK™ & TRAINING-PEAK™
A Scientific Approach To
Mastering Muscle Power Output

Brief Overview
Improving skeletal muscle power output is the holy-grail for sports supplements.  Muscles achieve peak power output by greatly depending on the replenishment of glycogen (stored carbohydrate in muscle used for fuel), amino acids (glutamine, BCAAs etc) as well as suppressing muscle destroying hormones (cortisol) and highly damaging byproducts called free radicals.

High-intensity exercise results in an increased need of these key nutrients, a rise in cortisol and the accumulation of free radicals in working muscle, each of which has been implicated as a cause of muscle fatigue and the ultimate loss of muscle power output during your next workout.

Enhancing an individual’s ability to replenish and maximize this process by ingesting the proper types of carbohydrates, proteins and antioxidants has been shown to dramatically increase muscle contractile strength, speed and power output while delaying fatigue during your next workout.

Muscle Power and the Glycogen System (Stopping Hormonal Damage)
Muscles have reserves of a complex carbohydrate called glycogen which they use to make ATP, the most critical high powered fuel source for muscle.

During and or after a workout, muscle glycogen stores become depleted, and a series of catastrophic events start to follow.  As glycogen becomes depleted, a catabolic (muscle destroying) hormone called cortisol increases. Cortisol literally begins to eat away at muscle tissue and turn it into glucose (blood sugar) in order to make more energy (ATP).  This catastrophic series of hormonal events results in a loss of muscle tissue as well as peak power output for your next workout if not addressed optimally.

Muscle Power and the Nitrogen System (Repairing Mechanical Damage)
70% of the protein in your body is found in muscle tissue and that protein contains the muscle building molecule called nitrogen. The amount of nitrogen in muscle determines if your muscles are getting stronger or if they are getting weaker.  Working out involves the breaking down of muscle which results in damage and microscopic tears to muscle protein resulting in nitrogen being lost from muscle.  This loss of muscle nitrogen is the worst state for any athlete or bodybuilder to be in as it destroys muscle tissue and consequently muscle power output.

Muscle Power and the Anti-oxidant System (Quenching Free Radical Damage)
By two minutes of exercise, the body responds to supply working muscles with oxygen primarily to produce ATP for energy. During this process, somewhere around 2-5% of this oxygen goes bad, and creates “free radicals”, nasty byproducts which are known to play a major role in damaging muscle fibers.  Research shows that exercise results in a dramatic increase in the production of free radicals in muscle tissue. If not controlled, a large quantity of muscle could easily be damaged resulting in muscular fatigue, poor performance and a loss of power output.  Anti-oxidants neutralize free radicals from attacking muscle tissue and are essential to prevent and repair exercise-induced damage.

MASS-PEAK™ and TRAINING-PEAK™  have been carefully formulated with the world’s most powerful known ingredients to master these critical post-workout power output systems in your body.  The production and management of sustainable biological power resources is of vital concern for every athlete, bodybuilder, power lifter etc while disruptions in maximizing the post workout restoration and repair process can contribute to a wide range of metabolic disturbances and symptoms, including fatigue and a massive loss of muscle power output.

TRAINING-PEAK™
# 1 Rated Multi-Vitamin Pack

THE TRAINING-PEAK ADVANTAGE: As you train, many thousands of biochemical reactions are occurring inside your body simultaneously. These reactions allow your muscles to generate force (contract) and make your body move. They are carried out by enzymes that are as critically dependent on vitamins, minerals and other co-factors for their function as a knife is on its blade. Enzymes are continually being synthesized and broken down, causing their vitamin and mineral “blades” to be excreted from the body in the process. That’s why you need a continual supply of fresh vitamins, minerals and co-factors. Should the supply run out, the biochemical reactions that make your training possible will come to a screeching halt. Athletes who take TRAINING-PEAK don’t have to worry. It contains many thousands of vitamins, minerals and co-factors, plus amino acids, enzymes and omega-3 fatty acids. Ingredients in TRAINING-PEAK have been clinically shown to reduce post-training muscle soreness and strength loss, mop up damaging free radicals, suppress levels of the catabolic hormone cortisol, stimulate muscle protein anabolism, and otherwise protect and enhance your ability to sustain higher muscular forces at higher speeds, also known as “speed X strength”, or power. And when it comes to performance, power is what is what defines a great athlete.

Ingredient Blend # 2
AMINO SPEED M10™:
Recovery, Endurance and Anti-Catabolic Skeletal Muscle Amino Acid Complex [containing L-Glutamine,
BCAAs ((Branched Chain Amino Acids (Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine)].

Training-Peak’s amino blend consists of the most critical muscle dependant amino acids (Glutamine and BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine) needed after exercise to stimulate muscle protein synthesis and inhibit muscle protein breakdown.  Glutamine, the most abundant amino acid in the body, makes up more than 60% of all amino acids found in muscle tissue while BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids) make up approximately 35%.  During exercise, protein degradation (muscle loss) actually occurs.  Studies show that when these amino acids are ingested before, during and after exercise, the net rate of protein loss decreases.  Equally important, amino acid administration given before and during exhaustive exercise may also delay muscle glycogen depletion and improve performance.

Clinical studies show that when adequate amounts of these aminos are ingested, they can delay mental and physical fatigue, increase endurance, decrease muscle breakdown , speed repair and recovery, enhance glycogen replenishment and increase nitrogen retention further promoting lean muscle mass.

Ingredient Blend # 3
OMEGA 3-6-9
Flax Seed Powder [containing omega 3 (alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)),
omega 6 (linoleic acid (LA)), omega 9 (oleic acid (OA)) and lignans], MCTs (Medium Chain
Triglycerides), Safflower (naturally containing CLA (conjugated linoleic acid)).

In addition to providing athletes with essential polyunsaturated omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, this complex supplies medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) for fast-acting energy and naturally occurring conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) to promote nutrient repartitioning and optimize the athlete’s body composition.

Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are the building blocks for prostaglandins, a class of hormones that regulate numerous bodily functions, including cellular responses, immune function, and hormone synthesis. Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to help increase stamina, recovery time, lean muscle, brain function and reduce inflammation and joint pain.

Ingredient Blend # 7
SUSTAINED RELEASE:
Time Controlled Delivery System

The key to absorbing sensitive nutritional supplements is highly dependant on them surviving the highly acidic environment of the stomach as well as providing a steady supply to the bloodstream over time.  Sensitive compounds such as those found in Training-Peak™ are not completely chemically stable in this acidic environment and can also be excreted in the urine if delivered all at once. Therefore, coating them to be delivered in a sustained release manner is an ideal way to maintain the stability of these nutrients as well as provide a continual steady supply in the bloodstream.

This coating is a manufacturing process that surrounds the tablet with materials that dissolve at a pre-determined pH higher than that of the stomach. A coated supplement would therefore pass through the stomach intact, dissolve and releasing the contents allowing absorption through the intestinal wall and into the bloodstream.

The advantages of Training-Peak’s sustained release tablets cannot be overstated as many products that you consume (in pill, powder or liquid form) will be harshly destroyed by the stomach acid or excreted in the urine and never reach muscle tissue.
